Hi!

Is it possible to create "snapshot volumes" with LVM on HP-UX 11.00?
On Linux, I'd type "lvcreate -s -L 512m -n snapshot /dev/sys/Users"
to create a snapshot volume called "snapshot" in the "sys" VG linked
to the lv "Users" (in "sys" VG).

On HP-UX, lvcreate knows a -s swithc as well, but it's for setting
strict mode.

Does HP-UX' LVM not support snapshot volumes?

Yes but this is option called OnlineJFS. More info at docs.hp.com

Yes it does, but it requires the LVM-Mirror product.

You have to use LVM Mirror product and then lvsplit lvmerge.
