Hi,

We are planning to use snapshots on HP-UX 11.0 using OnlineJFS. Currently we
use rsync to synchronize servers. I read that one can only user tar, cpio
and vxdump to use these snapshots.

Question: can one use rsync on snapshot volumes ?

Hi INCS,

Did you ever get the answer to this. I'm planning to do the same. I'm
currently using Software Mirroring (MirrorDisk/UX), so I'm splitting my
mirrors and rsyncing several times a day. We will be purchasing a new
system in the future that will be mirrored via hardware raid controllers
etc... so I'll probably need to use the OnlineJFS snapshot feature and
rsync from my snapshot if at all possible.
