VULNERABILITY SUMMARY:
A potential security vulnerability has been identified with HP
OpenView Radia Management Portal (RMP) versions 2.x and 1.x
running Radia Management Agent (RMA). This potential security
vulnerability could be exploited to allow a remote unauthorized
user to gain privileged access or to create a Denial of Service
(DoS).

HP OpenView Radia Management Portal (RMP) version 2.x running
Radia Management Agent (RMA) on Microsoft Windows NT 4.0,
Windows 2000, Windows 2003, and Windows XP.

HP OpenView Radia Management Portal (RMP) version 1.x running
Radia Management Agent (RMA) on AIX 4.1 and subsequent; HP-UX
version 10.20 and subsequent; Linux; Microsoft Windows NT 4.0,
Windows 2000, Windows 2003, and Windows XP; and SunOS 5.5 and
subsequent.

HP Company wishes to thank Dominic Beecher and David Morgan of
NGSSoftware Ltd (www.ngssoftware.com) for reporting this
vulnerability to us and assisting us to protect all of our valued
customers.

RESOLUTION:
HP has made the following available to resolve the issue:

For HP OpenView Radia Management Portal (RMP) version 2.x
RADINFRAWIN32_00005 is available from HP Software Support Online:

http://support.openview.hp.com

Note: HP Passport sign-in is required to access the Software
patches.


For HP OpenView Radia Management Portal (RMP) version 1.x
please contact the Radia Support Team for the following patches:

RADINFRAWIN32_00006 - Windows
RADINFRAAIX_00002 - AIX
RADINFRAHPUX1_00003 - HP-UX
RADINFRALNX_00001 - Linux
RADINFRASOL_00002 - Solaris

Applying the patch:

A new rma.tkd module must be installed on all client systems which
currently have the Radia Management Agent (RMA) installed. The
patch can be applied in one of two ways:

1. Use the Radia Client to deliver the new rma.tkd as a Radia
service. Refer to the engineering note OV-ENKB018234 titled
"RMP 2.x: Deploying a Radia Management Agent from a Command
or Radia Service" for details.

2. Use the Radia Management Portal's "Install Management Agent"
task to push the new rma.tkd to all Radia Client machines.
