You should have a software support with HP to get an installation CD set. Hint: try Ebay, most of the time people sell CD sets. Best regards, Jan Gerrit Kootstra |

I would ask the reseller first before bidding on it. Seems to be 11iV2, I am not sure that it is supported for your server. Best regards, Jan Gerrit Kootstra |

The old licenses (IIRC HP-UX 10.20 and older) for these old servers were bound to owner and machine, and it requires HP to do an official license transfer. But it doesn't require an support contract. HP-UX 11i is bound to the system alone and stays with the system, not with the owner. Benjamin |

Seems to be 11iV2, Nope, it doesn't. B.11.11 is 11i v1, and the manual on the picture clearly says "HP-UX 11i version 1". > I am not sure that it is supported for your server. 11i v2 is neither supported nor does it work on a D380. I agree with you that this is a good choice for the orginal poster. Best regards, Jan Gerrit Kootstra |

I do not like the way you express yourself. Thank you for the information. Best regards, Jan Gerrit Kootstra |

I got 3 machines (D380/2) with 2 RAID5 systems (HP SureStore E Disk Array 12H). The whole system was (I suppose) in the cluster mode and I am pretty sure it was installed HP-UX 11i (but again I am not sure) Company has deleted all HDs and now I want to reuse this machine (only one). Company does not exist anymore... Any Idee how I can get installation CD except buying it!? Thx |

You should ask the seller, or you can try to call HP and give them the serial number, maybe they still have the systems in their database (which due to the age of these machines is unlikely, though). > Company has deleted all HDs and now I want to reuse this machine (only one). > Company does not exist anymore... > Any Idee how I can get installation CD except buying it!? Ebay. Just make sure you get 11i v1 (B.11.11) and not any higher release. It's not 100% legal but if you don't use the server commercially (i.e. to run a business on it or to use it to make money) then there should be no problem. HP usually doesn't care about what hobbyists do with their old systems. Benjamin |
