Hi! Sorry, I am not good on the linux set up. Anyway, I just upgrade
the server intel xeon from 3.2 ghz 512kbytes cache to 3.2 ghz 2MB
cache. I re-format and install redhat 8.0 again, but any how, I did not
see any different between between 5.12kbytes cache and 2MB cache. I
just check the CPU info and see it shows only 512 kbytes cache. So, how
I make the Redhat to support 2MB cache?? I check the BIOS and it shows
that:

L2 512 Kbytes cache
L3 2 Mbytes cache

So, any help would very appreciated.

Why do you upgrade the CPU and not the OS, which is free? Try Fedora
Core 3 or some other current distro.

Hello There!

After I upgrade it to Fedora 4. It still show the same when I use cat
/proc/cpuinfo which the cpu cache is 512kbytes

Cache size is a little misleading as my processors have a 1024MB L3 cache as
well as the 512KB L2 cache and the L1 caches. The problem I believe you have
in understanding these data is that they omit the L1 and L3 cache
information. What you may be seeking will be in your /var/log/messages,
shortly after the boot process has started, like here (leading columns deleted):
