Hello !

I have been trying (unsuccessfully) for quite a while to tune the ALSA
driver for my soundcard SoundBlaster Live 1024 (with 4 speakers and a
bass speaker from Altec Lansing).

I can't precisely describe the problem (I'm not an expert with hifi
sound) but the sound seem less 'rich' and the bass sounds are
quickly saturated compared to Windows 98. For instance, to have the same
level of sound on Linux, I have to manually raise the speakers volume.

I don't know which information you need in order to identify the
problem, but I'm on Linux Debian Woody and cat
/usr/src/modules/alsa-driver/version gives me : 0.9.0beta12 (I'm not
sure of the correct method to get the version of ALSA driver)
