I read and I read , still don't understand if there is a differenve between
linux-amd64 and linux-x86-64.
is there a difference ,and how does it relates to Suse 9.0

AMD64 is the official trademark name for the 64-bit architecture that
used to be called "x86-64". See the first entry in the AMD64 FAQ:

AMD64 is just the new name for x86-64.
SuSE 9 comes in 2 versions, one for x86 and one for x86-64.
