| Hi all I'm setting up a new install of rh9 to act as a server on a primarily winxp network (of 7 machines). It's a dual P3 500 with about 768MB ram The primary disk will be 20gb with two other disks - 30gb and 20gb There are two users and we do a lot of graphics/web/video work. I plan to use the defaults for the linux install paths like / and /root and so on, 2*RAM for /swap etc. I want to create a mount point like /clients for all our client data on one of the other drives, and maybe put /home on another drive as well, how do I do that? Can I just use Disk Druid during install, e.g. create a new partition called /clients and select the drive I want it on? cheers Lucas |

During install you can use disk druid to do exactly what you want. One thing, if you tell it to automatically partition for you, then if you go and make changes, it will STILL automatically rearrange partitions on you. You might want to try auto, make note of the suggested sizes, then select back and select manual. However RH 9 updates will fade out soon (AFAIK 04/2004), you'd better take a look at fedora, RH ES 3.0 or another distro. -- Michael Heiming Remove +SIGNS and www. if you expect an answer, sorry for inconvenience, but I get tons of SPAM |
