Default Cannot load agpgart kernel module

Hi,

I recently changed my mainboard and cpu and since this time, I cannot load
the agpgart.o module.
This is an overview of my configuration :
Asus A7V8X-X Mainboard (Via KT 400 chipset)
Athlon XP 2400+
Matrox g450 (note that the mga.o module don't load too)
Linux kernel 2.4.20

Nothing occurs during the compilation of the kernel.

Some of the errors I see :
- failed to load module ... maybe bad IRQ ...
- can't resolve char-major-226 (or something like this)

I can't give you more infos today, cause I'm at work but if someone is
kind enough to help, I'll print here all my logs tomorrow.

Default Re: Cannot load agpgart kernel module

Hi all,

I answer to myself to post some interesting things about my problem.
The problem seems to come from the Via KT 400 chipset which is not
correctly supported in the 2.4 kernel tree (but there are some patches
around). The problem is resolved in the 2.6 serie.
So for those who have the the problem, warp to 2.6 !

Regards
