I have tried several dozen different attempts, but am not able to print.
I have a DeskJet 970Cse attached to a Dell 400SC running dual-boot,
Linux Suse 9.1 and Win XP Pro. (BTW, the printer works fine under
Windows). The printer is attached to the parallel port.

The CUPS print admin at localhost:631 reports that the print has
completed successfully, but the printer does nothing.

I was using the CUPS and HP drivers that came with the Suse install.
Reconfigured numerous times, selecting the different 970 drivers. Still
the same results.

I downloaded the HP project 1.7.1 from Sourceforge, and installed it.
When I do the hpijs -h, I get the correct copyright display 2001-2003.

I downloaded and installed a new CUPS system, v 1.1.22 (instead of the
YaST-installed one on the SuSE install).

Still the same results.

Hers is the CUPS error_log. I included snaps from when I installed the
printer, followed by the log of trying a print job. As far as I can
see, everything looks normal in the print log, yet the printer does
absolutely nothing.
