Default Changes to Suse XF86Config to get 1920x1200 resolution?

Help!

I have copied others' working modelines for 1920x1200 into my
XF86Config but it did not work on my Dell D800 WUSGA 1920x1200 laptop
(I deleted the other modelines).

Clearly there's something else I need to do or change I am missing.

Thanks for any help in advance,
Jim

Are you sure that the X-Server you are using are able to do 1920x1200
with your card?

Jim,
I have a DELL Inspiron 8600 with WUXGA and use the 1920x1200. Please look at
my XF86Config, maybe this helps you.
Regards,
Ralf

go into control center and select graohics card
then click color and resolution, then properties
then click expert tab enter resolution click add
then you will see the resolution you have entered
is ticked then finalize then test this will tell you if the
resolution is usable with suse you don't have to mess
around in XF86Config file yast does it all for you
I talk from past experiance.

Did you do this with a 1920x1200 LCD notebook monitor?

I followed these steps. I simply gave me a scrambled screen. However,
I know people using Linux, including Suse, are using hte 1920x1200
resolution just fine.

Thanks anyway though.

Jim

For some adapters, not for all. I had to go into sax to configure my
elsa.
