| Hi folks, Over the xmas hols, the monitor for my FC5 & 6 boxes was damaged beyond repair, so I'm having to use a really old one I've had lying around for ages. Unfortunately this is a 15" monitor as opposed to my lovely 17", so of course I cannot use the gnome gui. I can fortunately still use the TTY sessions, but how can I configure the monitor definitions down to a reasonable size so that I can get into the gui? Many thanks, Dave -- Dave Stratford ZFCA http://daves.orpheusweb.co.uk/ Hexagon Systems Limited - Experts in VME systems development |

First save your old xorg.conf, then use the built-in configuration tool from the command line: system-config-display Davide -- I'm fairly sure that if they took all the porn off the Net, there'd only be one website left, and it would be called "bring-back-the-porn dot com". -- Perry Cox, _Scrubs_ |

See and use(minus the --help switch); system-config-display --help Try setting the monitor to your old 15" monitor or to a Generic Monitor that has the same resolution specs. Example (as root of course); system-config-display --set-depth=16 --set-resolution=1024x768 --reconfig -- Contained within the Microsoft EULA; This Limited Warranty is void if failure of the Product has resulted from accident, abuse, misapplication, abnormal use or a virus. |
