| Hi! I am wondering if there anybody can get Samsung ML-1440 work with CUPS. I tried the Samsung ML-1200 driver from Foomatic, the result is nice, but it always get the printer spit 2 extra pages before the printed one. Samsung gave driver for linux, but it require to replace ghostscript with their own ghostcript that was changed from GNU ghostscript (I think they change gdevqpdl.c) which tops at version 5.50. However CUPS require their own ghostscript as well (EPS ghostscript). Do you know how they can work together? I also tried the generic-gdi driver from Foomatic, but it didn't work. Maybe it need EPS ghostscript? Thank you! -- S P Arif Sahari Wibowo _____ _____ _____ _____ /____ /____/ /____/ /____ arifsaha@yahoo.com _____/ / / / _____/ http://www.arifsaha.com/ |

We have done this; ESP ghostscript includes a fixed-up version of the Samsung "SmartGDI" driver, or you can get the driver alone from http://www.linuxprinting.org/ > > I also tried the generic-gdi driver from Foomatic, but it didn't work. > > Maybe it need EPS ghostscript? It needs this Samsung "gdi" driver to be present in your Ghostscript installation. ESP gs has it, as do assorted vendor gs's, but apparently not the one you have. -- Grant Taylor - gtaylor<at>picante.com - http://www.picante.com/~gtaylor/ Linux Printing Website and HOWTO: http://www.linuxprinting.org/ |

However, it does spit 2 extra blank pages when printing from Netscape. sea_wavy |
