You hardly have to type anything, and mostly can select things from lists. Then, I try again, and I don't get error mesages. After rebooting I don't get any GUI (like KDE or Gnome), just terminal mode to login. What kind of linux is that? |

First of all, the selection of additional packages is not part of the installation, it is done after the installation. Second, you probably have selected to install additional packages using dselect. That program is not intuitive. Either read the documentation before you use it, or use some other program to install the packages you want. If you want to quickly get a GUI, type apt-get install x-window-system-core kde kdm If you need more help, tell us /what/ error message you get. However, there are quite a few Debian-based distros around, some of which have a more friendly installation (I don't really see why so many people see it as a screaming nightmare on stilts...)
