The contents of my fstab doesn't show anything like that, but here it is: # /etc/fstab: static file system information. # # <file system> <mount point> <type> <options> <dump> <pass> proc /proc proc defaults 0 0 # /dev/sdb1 UUID=95fbb720-8f62-4fba-aaed-438b8050d2f6 / ext3 defaults,errors=remount-ro 0 1 # /dev/sdb5 UUID=ca2792c5-34da-42b0-b0f2-c87cf7f61159 none swap sw 0 0 /dev/scd0 /media/cdrom0 udf,iso9660 user,noauto 0 0 /dev/fd0 /media/floppy0 auto rw,user,noauto 0 0 |

| I don't know if this matters but when I call up the properties on my master drive I get the usual basic info but also this under the Volume Tab - Mount Point - Not Mounted File System - Not Mounted Mount Options - Not Mounted |

I bet your XP boot partition is the first on the master drive, so just de-comment these lines then and it should lift off after rebooting. No need to run any programs after changing menu.lst (that's nice of GRUB). > BTW - Forgive me if the word wrap is messed up on this - Not use to Pan > just yet. There's a "Wrap Text" option in posting window's Edit menu. It should be on by default, by maybe Pan (my current favorite) only wraps text while you're typing it, not pasting from clipboard. Anyway, it's good to use a newsreader that has a 100% Good Netkeeping Seal of Approval evaluation, isn't it? -- Krzysztof Lubanski |

It's funny, I can tear through the windows registry with complete confidence that I know exactly what I'm doing. Low-Level format on a hard drive, no sweat. But this seemingly simple thing has me just a little nervous. :-) I'll find out shortly though...... > > There's a "Wrap Text" option in posting window's Edit menu. Yeah, I used the "Wrap Now / Wrap Text" but those long lines looked like a mess in the posting window. Shows up fine in the article window though. I like Pan well enough, just kinda like my old fossil NewsX because I had it setup so that it was one separate window for newsgroups, a separate window for articles, and a separate window for message bodies instead of all three in one window. |

| One more question? Ummm, how do I edit the menu.lst file? It's "read only" and I can't change the permissions - something about I'm not the owner so I can't change the property settings on it. |

I got windows set up in Ubuntu and vice-versa without any difficulty. I also found the procedure for fixing my refresh rate problem in Ubuntu. Actually found specifics to my particular monitor and video card despite they're both kind of old hardware. Next up is my soundcard and mouse. But I'll make a new post if I run into problems and can't find a solution from the several various Linux websites I now have bookmarked. :-) |
