| I've just moved over to Linux after many years of slogging through life using Windoze and although I'm ok on the basics I'm having great diffiulty in getting my SB Audigy 2 Ex Platinum working. I know why (I think) because I need to install the emu10k1 driver. I've tried following the guide at http://guides.printf.dk/audigy2.htm but it doesn't work (the "make install" line seems to generate a whole page of informative error type text that us Windoze users just aren't used to. I used to enjoy guessing why the machine just suddenly shut down for no reason). I have the kernel source installed (the correct one for my kernel) I'm not sure what info is needed so if someone out there has the patience to help me out and tell me what info they need to help me then it would be very appreciated. Also can anyone recommend any good books on Linux? Thanks Baz |
