Any ideas how to run/convert an excel spreadsheet with macro wrote in
visualbasic into linux enviroment?

Use open office ? You might have to translate the function by hand,
but AFAIK open office supports most of the ms office functionality.
One can also write functions in BASIC. Whether the Open Office
basic is fully compatible with Visual Basic, I do not know.
