Default F2 key does whatnow?

I'm just starting to use Redhat 8.0 and the F2 no longer works with my
application. I see it is doing some sort of builtin previous command list or
something but it doesn't even seem to be outputting the correct char sequence.
Is there some way I can disable whatever is going on? Thanks.

...what's assigning special features to the Fkeys in multi-user mode. When I
boot into single my F2 key works perfectly. Anyone??

Perhaps if you offer more detail than "this doesn't work," someone will
be able to help you. As for me, I have no clue what you're specific
problem is to offer much assistance.

Perhaps some detail about whether your running in X-Windows, or the
command line. Info regarding the programming language your app is using
would likely be helpful as well. What are you expecting and what is it
doing, specifically?

Regards,
Tim

Text or GUI multi-user mode? If it's GUI mode, it may be the window
manager. You do know that you use ctrl-alt-Fx to switch from the GUI
to a text console, right? In some window managers (like fvwm), the
F-keys may work differently depending on whether numlock is on.

Well, it is in text mode. As I posted to another group, it works OK in
single user mode, so I know it CAN be disabled...

The F2 key is executing some sort of a macro, it is not outputting the
standard Chars for F2 under linux emulation....
