You have something else wrong. I am on cable modem with our new
4megbit throttled download connection and get
Your download speed : 4030135 bps, or 3935 kbps.
from a http://www.broadbandreports.com/stest site.

I don't know if this will help you or not. My usual maximum d/l speed
was about 400 kB/s. But when I tried d/ling FC3 from a wide variety of
http and ftp mirrors, I couldn't get d/l speeds better than 100 kB with
too many broken connections.

Then last night I went to http://www.webattack.com (a freeware d/l site
I like) and finally looked for a d/l manager. Normally I wouldn't need
it with my connection. But I d/led and installed LeechGet 2004 Personal
Edition 1.1. When I tried to d/l FC3 now the d/l manager opened
numerous seperate streams, and my d/l speed shot up as high as 600
kB/sec for short spurts. ISO's that had been taking three hours or more
before the connection was lost were now d/ling in 30 minutes.

I never thought I would use a download manager again as long as Ihad so
much bandwidth, but I really like LeechGet. The EULA mentioned nothing
about installing anything but the program files. I never install
software anymore without reading the EULA to see what's getting
installed. I'll probably scan my system tonight with Spybot and
AD-Aware SE because its been almost a week since my last malware
nonvirus scan.

Had a long and incredible tool.
He can use it to plow,
Or to diddle a cow,
Or just as a cue-stick at pool.
