| I am having trouble installing Fedora Core 2 and 3(test) on my PC. I have a 120GB Maxtor ATA hard disk. Till last week I was using my system with 4 OSs, Fedora Core 2,Windows XP, Windows 2003 Server and Longhorn. I had 1 primary partition(Win XP) plus an extended partition with 4 logical drives all formatted with NTFS. Apart from that I was using 15GB of free space, not part of extended partition, for Fedora Core 2. There were no problems. Last week I formatted my Linux partition from Windows 2003 into NTFS because I needed that space. Now whenever I run Fedora Core 2 setup it gives a message 'Unable to align partition'. I have heard about this problem but when I installed it previously it didn't show any such error message. Is there something wrong with my hard disk or MBR. I am using Auto mode, not the LBA mode in the BIOS settings. I was able to install Mandrake 10 successfully but Fedora Core 2 and 3(test) are giving me this problem. Is there any solution to this problem? Arun |
