| I'm trying to install Fedora Core 4 on a Asus A8N-SLI deluxe motherbord with a ADM Athlon 64 3200+ processor and two Western Digital Vaciar 320 Gb S-ATA disks and 512 Mb memory. The first time I tried to install FC4, it began to format the two disks, but then it complained that the spaces on the different partitions was not enough to install FC4. So I rebooted and specified that all exisiting partitions on both disks should be erased. Then I increased the sized to: /boot 102 Mb /usr 4196 Mb /var 2047 Mb /tmp 512 Mb /opt 1024 Mb /home rest of the disk /home2 whole second disk Everythings works OK until I get the screen which: About the install ----------------- Click next to begin installation of Fedora Core... I then click next and I get the screen telling me that I need to have the CDs ready. Then I get the message: Error ----- Error informing the kernal about modification to partion /dev/sda1 - Device or resource busy. This means Linux won't know about any changes you made to /dev/sda2 until reboot - so you shouldn't mount it or use it any way before rebooting [ Ingore ] [Cancel] The problem is that the system shall be installed on the sda1 device... Then I get a crash dump due to an unhandeled exception. So what the h**l is wrong? Don't tell me I need to switch to Windows... -- Jørn Dahl-Stamnes http://www.dahl-stamnes.net/dahls/index.php |
