Default File Associations

Running KDE on Redhat...
I made the mistake of launching gxine, and its' setup wizard allowed me
to let it claim all the file types it could handle. I discovered that
gxine was lame compared to the current xine, so I removed the .gxine
directory in ~, relaunched, and this time in the setup wizard told it
NOT to claim file types. I used the file associations control panel in
KDE to make sure my audio files directed to xmms, video to xine, not
gxine, and in both the Konqueror and Mozilla browsers also made sure
that those file associations applied. I can't find anywhere in the
system that anything IS assigned to gxine, but whenever I'm trying to
browse http://www.live365.com with Mozilla and launch soundfiles to
listen to in xmms, which used to work, I'm still getting gxine launched
to handle them... and I can't find anywhere to further break that
association. Anyone have any clue how to undo this file association?

Further, I've never been able, even before gxine, to get the Konqueror
to launch anything when I click on a "play" button on the website
http://www.live365.com, and don't know why that doesn't work, despite
having fully configured Konqueror to allow JavaScript launched pop-up
windows. Anyone have any clue how to configure this to work?

OK, this problem was solved by uninstalling a plug-in for gxine that it
had installed (but failed to remove) in my home directory's plug-ins
for Mozilla.
