| Hi, I'm using Mandriva 2006/KDE with Reiser V3 FS. I started downloading a (Knoppix) DVD ISO file (size about 3GB) using firefox (1.0.6) from an ftp server. At the evening, I had about 1.8 of the file downloading at 58KB/S, so I left it overnight. When I checked at the morning, firefox download manager reported a NEGATIVE download sped of-30KB/S. I suspended the download, and using Konqueror, and it showed the partial download with about 2.6 GB size. I pressed the resume from Firefox download manager, but it won't resume (tried several times and waited 10 minutes after each resume). Please note that: a. I'm still connected to the Internet ( I can browse from the same Firefox in a different tab). b. I'm using Reiser V3 filesystem. C. I've still have 40GB free of the partition I'm trying to download into. I suspect the problem stems from the fact that the size of the partial download exceeds 2GB. Please advise if, and how, can I resume downloading with starting all over again. TIA |

Kget will pick up the d/l, and complete the partial file. -- imotgm "Lost? Lost? I've never been lost... Been a tad confused for a month or two, but never lost." |

I believe that you have an issue calculating the offset, but it may not be in in the client. Just because the server can deliver a file > 2GB doesn't mean it knows how to do the math correctly to set the offset to continue. > > Please note that: > a. See the "-c" option of wget, it describes resuming a download started with another client. I don't know if wget is using 64bit access, I believe it is because I downloaded a DVD, but didn't resume the D/L. -- bill davidsen SBC/Prodigy Yorktown Heights NY data center http://newsgroups.news.prodigy.com |
