| Hi, Just did fresh MDK 10 (community -3 CDs) install. System works, yet, looking at dmesg after reboot, I got the following which repeated several times. On the other hand dmesg did NOT show most of the boot messages. Can some advise what's going on? TIA Michael Badt --------------dmesg output (partial)--------------- drom: Unknown parameter `no' ide-cd: Unknown symbol cdrom_is_mrw ide-cd: Unknown symbol register_cdrom ide-cd: Unknown symbol cdrom_ioctl ide-cd: Unknown symbol cdrom_mode_select ide-cd: Unknown symbol cdrom_media_changed ide-cd: Unknown symbol cdrom_get_last_written ide-cd: Unknown symbol cdrom_mode_sense ide-cd: Unknown symbol cdrom_get_media_event ide-cd: Unknown symbol cdrom_release ide-cd: Unknown symbol cdrom_mediactl ide-cd: Unknown symbol cdrom_open ide-cd: Unknown symbol unregister_cdrom ide-cd: Unknown symbol cdrom_number_of_slots ide-cd: Unknown symbol init_cdrom_command |

Did you verify the md5 sums of your downloaded images, and burn them at somewhat lower then max speed? Does your cdrom actually work from within that install? You might go for a kernel update and install that, it might fix that error. -- Longhorn error#4711: TCPA / NGSCB VIOLATION: Microsoft optical mouse detected penguin patterns on mousepad.
