You don't have to do that. The X window system, as well as many
windowmanagers and even KDE are on the first CD. Just try

apt-get install x-window-system-core

and use later

dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86

to reconfigure it. I think you should go to the Debian web site and take
a look at the documentation there, maybe the installation manual and
apt howto for the beginning.
