| Hi guys! Quick question regarding the kernel compilation: I've followed the steps in the kernel compilation README file and I've generated my new kernel. I've compiled the modules, did a make modules_install which generated everything in /lib/modules... I've got the kernel copied in the /boot/ directory, made the entry in /etc/lilo.conf and it was all fine. However, when I'm booting the new kernel, even though it does boot (nearly) ok, it complains all the time about not finding /boot/module-infoxxxx for the newly-compiled kernel. As the compilation process doesn't seem to generated this file, and I'm not sure whether I should just copy and rename an old one, can anyone tell me how to generate this file? The manuals/howto's don't talk about this, unless I'm looking in the wrong place???? Many thanks! Liviu Tudor |
