| Using a UK keyboard, when using Knoppix (3.4) I can't get a '|' character on the keyboard. Using the key to the left of 'z', I get the following: Lower case: '<' (Instead of '\') Upper case: '>' ( Instead of '|') Tried setting KDE congif to 'UK', but didn't make any difference. I need to use the '|' character for a 'pipe' function! How does one achieve that with Knoppix? -- Maurice Batey (Retired in Hampshire, UK) www.maurice.eurobell.co.uk (Remove 'antispam.' to reply by email) |

Check out the cheat codes on the CD or website and look for one to set the keyboard layout. I think it's "keyboard=" but I haven't tried it so YMMV. -- Andy. |

Nothing to do with knoppix. Man xmodmap. Anyway, the pipe symbol on a uk keyboard is normally where you describe it, so apparently your key genrates the wrong keycode for the uk keymap. Check!
