Default MDK 9.2 install can't access disc in CDROM

I am trying to install Mandrake 9.2 on the second partition of my
Dell Inspiron 3500 laptop (1st partition is Win98, 2nd currently has
Red Hat 8) When I boot to Disk 1, the install process begins, and
then I get the following message:
I can't access a Mandrake Linux Installation disc in your CDROM drive
(Toshiba CD-Rom XM-1802B)
Has anyone else seen this? It obviously sees the disk to boot from it
and begin the process. I have downloaded another ISO image, the
checksum matches. Any ideas?
TIA, David

I found a workaround: http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=5275
When you boot from disc 1, select F1 for options. On the next page type
"linux ide=nodma" and the install proceeds normally.
