| Hi, I was wondering if anyone tried to install mozilla 1.4 in red hat 8.0 I did install mozilla1.4 from the rpm available at mozilla.org, and it worked until I restarted the machine. Then mozilla just silently didn't start without giving any error message. Now I reverted to mozilla1.0.2 from red hat packages and it works. I was wondering if any one had had better luck, and how. Cheers, Chris |

I dislike Mozilla 1.4 on any X installation. For that matter, I dislike it in Windows too. However, Mozilla Firebird and Thunderbird are keepers. A lot less bloat (although, I hope the continue the dieting). If you want to use it, go out to Mozilla, download the tarballs, untar into your desired location, create the link on the desktop and you're off and running. No rpm games, very simple installation. Good luck. |
