Your idea of "super" appears to be derived from a viewpoint where that kind of thing is the product of years of training yet to come. Look - the rest of the universe takes it for granted that you can install software, just as the rest of the universe takes it for granted that you can chew gum and use a ballpoint pen. We didn't properly appreciate that you were such a gormless mound of uselessness that all you can do is call your "supplier" and get their "engineers" to "rebuild" something [your installation, in all probability] instead of you clicking on a gcc rpm to install it, or adding in the development section from your install cds by clicking on "development" in the setup section of the root install tool. We were dealing with the wrong problem - we told you that all you had to do was what the rest of the universe does and what we would do, and we didn't realize that you aren't capable such simple things. That's below the level of my mother. Even she can click on the icons. > actually spend some time away from the computer and have a life outside > my PC! Uh, if you can't install gcc from an rpm, or even FIND gcc in rpm, then you are somewhere on the mullusc scale of evolution as regards PCs. If you think that it takes people who spend all day at their PC to do such an utterly trivial thing for you, then you REALLY have a problem! > Get your penis out of your coffe cup and experience the rest of > the world - you might find something you actually enjoy doing that > isn't programmed to excite you! I do mathematical logic for a living. What do you do? Care to share a groovy Kripke structure with me? I'm all up for a parameterised branching universe or two. Peter |

It does not take a superior human being like Peter; even I have done it, many times, back since Red Hat Linux 5.0 days (1998?). -- .~.
