Mozilla certainly has the capability to show local HD files -- perhaps it the 'protocol' file:/// or man:/// I'll try to look into it further..... Regards |

HTML is a poor > substitue offline. > [Most below pertains to Browsers only, I guess] Actually IMNSHO, that's the ONLY place html has any relevance (locally), and should stay Off the Internet, *especially* out of email -- but not so much so as Javascript-o-bozo-crud and VBS and all that other ghastly code like Macrocrap, and it's Shockshit, and Java applets, etc. But, truth be told, I'm not PostScript 'literate', and know very little about it.. On a related note; [ Remember I'm only sharing my experience and do not profess to 'know-it-all' - I'm just n a bit of a ranting mood ] I find it excrusciatingly painful to have to go through the process(es) each time I'd like to review a tar.gz file stored locally -- and if that isn't bad enough; AFAIK One would need to extract it's contents, just to have any Contextual menu options, when viewing in an embedded viewer (browser centric). Regards p.s. My Debian system is on the fritz atm...I upgraded twice today (Sarge -> Etch) all was well -- but then again from Etch-> Unstable, and it's all broken atm... but I'll fix it. I say this; because I can't really follow up with configuring/installing/searching for (xman) packages I was unaware of, and such right now. |
