| Hello everybody. I have a problem with parted, I think... I tried to resize and move some partitions, but I incurred in this: % (parted) check 1 % Warning: Unable to align partition properly. % This probably means that another partitioning tool % generated an incorrect partition table, because % it didn't have the correct BIOS geometry. % It is safe to ignore, but ignoring may cause (fixable) % problems with some boot loaders. % Ignore/Cancel? What's the problem? How can I fix it? Thanks, *Guldo* |

Oh, sorry, I forgot: partitions are in ext3, on a single device, and I'm running Debian Sid Linux 2.6.0 GNU Parted 1.6.6 Thanks, *Guldo* |

No problem. Ignore it. I've done that a couple times with no problems - except that Partition Magic V5.0 can no longer see my Windows partition (Windows and Linux both can and everything works fine.) The interesting thing is that Partition Magic will complain about a partition table adjusted by parted. None of these things know what they're doing but they all insist on proclaiming that "some other program" has caused a problem. -- Richard Steven Hack "Whatever does not kill me makes me stronger" - and YOU have not killed me! |
