| hello, I'm trying to use xmms to play ogg files and streaming radio. I have Debian Sid I installed xmms by : apt-get install xmms I've been said that ogg support was already included in the last versions of xmms. But when I open the preferences window to select the input plugin, I only have the choice between these : libtonegen.so libcaudio.so libmpeg123.so libwav.so but no Ogg/Vorbis plugin ! The strange thing, is that it installed these files on my system : /usr/lib/xmms/Input/libwav.so /usr/lib/xmms/Input/libmpg123.so /usr/lib/xmms/Input/libmikmod.so /usr/lib/xmms/Input/libcdaudio.so /usr/lib/xmms/Input/libtonegen.so /usr/lib/xmms/Input/libvorbis.so How can I use the libvorbis.so ? Why does'nt it appear in the preferences input list ? Thanks for your suggestions |

Installing vorbis-tools will install the vorbis libraries and allow you to test vorbis files at the command line with ogg123. I use Debian sid myself and I can confirm that xmms does play them. It's not installed on this machine though so I can't check in more detail at the moment. -- Andy. |
