Default pcmcia no longer works in 2.6

Hi all,

I got a 16-bit PCMCIA card to work fine under 2.6.9,
but after I upgraded to 2.6.14.3, I found that it didnt work.
In fact, it seems no PCMCIA cards work anymore.

Anybody know why things have become less stable?

Thanks.

You need new userland for anything after 2.6.13, which has Brodo's PCMCIA.
The cardmgr (from pcmcia-cs) is replaced with pcmciautils. Actually, since
the matching is in kernel now, you can load modules by hand even without
any userland. But some systems, such as my VAIO Z505JE, require that
a starter application were run (called pcmcia-socket-startup).
