| hi, i have a problem to install SuSE 7.2 on my old Toshiba Laptop (CT1950 486/DX40, 800 MB HDD, 20 MB RAM, 10 M/Bit NIC, without CD-ROM). The boot prozess stopped with the floppydisk images on the setup-CD. I am readed in the SuSE Support database that many old laptops have problems with the compact images from the newer versions. In the SuSE 5.3 version is contained an image for Thinkpad laptops. This image works great and i can install via ftp. But this is the last version where such an image was contained. I want create a disk with loadlin.exe 1.6c to provide and take a kernel from the disk image of the SuSE 7.2 CD. After that start comes the message: VFS: Insert root floppy and press ENTER what here does it want to have? Have you any idea to install SuSE 7.2 on this laptop ? best regards Carsten Burk |
