| I've recently made the switch to Fedora on my 'server' at home and am still getting up to speed on things. I installed core 3 from DVD and I want to use the system-config-packages utility to add in some more packages. The problem I'm having is that Fedora is refusing to mount my DVD and having checked various things it seems it doesn't like the DVD+RW. Anyway, I thought I'd try a different approach by sharing the DVD from my other PC and mounting it as an smb share (both to /mnt/cdrom & /media/cdrom). The mount worked and I see a CD-ROM icon on the KDE desktop; however when I run the package utility it still prompts me to insert the CD-ROM for fedora disc 3. Does anyone know of a way to get the utility to look to an alternate location for packages? Cheers, Chris |
