| I am quite experienced in using linux I have got it to connect with dialup and also made a network. I have been using redhat and most recently mandriva. I tried (using all the available docs and drivers) six months ago to get my conexant accessrunner modem working on mandriva but failed (something to do with modules it was). I am about to try again with a different distro and want to know what distro will give me the best chance of getting the above modem working (or even just install it). alpy |

Start with a Knoppix bootable CD: that way you don't have to install anything to poke around. |

I'm totally unfamiliar with the modem, so I can't guess what driver it uses, but if the driver will talk to it I would expect modem software to do as well. -- bill davidsen SBC/Prodigy Yorktown Heights NY data center http://newsgroups.news.prodigy.com |
