| I have a WinXP setup to which I wish to add a dual boot of linux. The XP setup came pre-configured with 2+ 0 striped disc array, which partition magic now appears to have shrunk for me leaving 30 gig of empty unassigned space, out of a total of 220 gig (the remainder is for the XP ntfs setup) I have tried SuSE and Mandrake AMD64 flavours of linux and both installations fail to find a valid disc device, despite the promise raid array hardware being recognised. How can I get my unassigned portion of the raided drives to be recognised by linux (or is this just not possible?) at installation? Also at boot up there is a bios type setup for the raid - if I fiddle with this and change any of the settings - will I lose all of my data upon the existing winxp drives? |
