Run 'top' and see what's eating up CPU
Could always be a hardware problem: e.g. fan with a bearing that's going

Also boot into CMOS and go to the 'power' or 'temperatures' screen, leave
it running for an hour and see what the temperatures go up to. Is a fan not
working?
