Err, don't think he wants to use some FS/printer from the Linux box.

He needs to allow XDMCP chooser requests, don't know Knoppix, but
it sounds like it's disabled per default. With a normal installed
box it shouldn't be a problem, since you can modify
/etc/X11/xdm/Xaccess. Don't know about Knoppix, check the Knoppix
mailing list archives for an answer and ask on the list if there's
no info.
