Also check the kde setup. There is a "timer" in there which also kicks in after a short time. Ie, it is not just the screensaver you have to worry about but also kde. What happens when you hit a key. Does it pop back up? |

Try K->Configuration->KDE->LookNFeel->Screensaver and see what the timeout there is. Also check what it brings up (it may well be set for blank screen, to save power on a laptop) (NOte that path of menu items above is on Mandrake and it may be different on Redhat. Anyway, you want to look into the KDE configuration) |
