| Ain't it the truth! I was in CompUSA today (they have a great deal on a Toshiba Laptop) and I heard a salesperson and 3, not 1, not 2, but 3, customers discussing Linux and how bad it is when it comes to supporting modern hardware. The salesperson confided off the record that they are forced to sell Linux software, but they don't recommend it because it is so bad compared to Windows and that most people who buy it end up screwing up their systems and come back to the store screaming. No surprise there! On another note there was a line waiting for a salseperson in the Apple dept. Seems, colleges are recommending Apple for their students because of the lower incidence of virii and spyware. I spoke with the poor sales drone and he told me it's like this everyday and they are looking to hire more knowledgeable Apple sales people. I asked about Linux and his answer was, and I quote: "You must be joking" When I replied, no I am not, he told me how much Linux sucks and how just about every copy of Linux they sell comes back to the store, attached to an irate consumer who just blew away their hard disk installing Linux. Typical..... |

I hear the twice convicted microshat monopoloy are releasing new slow down 'downupgrade' windope for orifice modules to really make windope suck in the orifice and force every windope to switch to install pasta la vista on their computers and then bend down like good little bum boys and become stuoopid windope payees for getting shafted and then say thank you. So whats else is new in windope astroturfing world? Nothing as yet. But needless they will try be trying it on in the next few days. |

| It is a great shame that these things occur but I don't find it suprising. Many people these days are computer-illerate (despite what they may think) and Linux is just too hard for them, so if people like this buy a (even the more new user friendly distributions) distribution they will usually find a, what they think is, fault. They then return Linux complaining how crap it is and the sales staff, who haven't bothered trying it since they are moderately happy with Windows, assume that it must be crap since a large majority of buyers return it. Now I believe Linux is much better than Windows but I'm just pointing out what I believe to be the case in computer stores. Even my teachers tell me Linux is crap compared with Windows, hell, they even said how tables were better than CSS for positioning... damn. |

Most people have heard of it and even 15 year old kids are making their own LiveCD distros. Nearly 300 liveCDs to try out on this link alone... http://www.livecdlist.com/ |

| For regular PC users, they'd better stick with windows. Even though I dual boot my every PC to win & RH, I only use Linux for testing/learning purpose, like Oracle RAC stuff. Why do I still use win? 'cause there are more games/apps available on win.
