Which kernel headers I should use ? can I > use the one come in 7.1 CD ? Thanks Let me give u better recommendation since ur build own kernel. Download lat... opssss.. is ur kernel 2.2.19!!! ur building a stable system cool.Continued.. download new kernel 2.2 version.. from kernel.org. Then start building it. Why? You will find more intersting stuff in it. The header yeap its important. Sometimes when changing between changing higher kernel version like changing from 2.2 to 2.4 or upto 2.6. Normal distribution will have static kernel headers.. you'll find in /usr/include/linux and /usr/include/asm .. by right when u building kernel this link should be symbolic linked from /usr/src/linux/include/asm and /usr/src/linux/include/linux .. If you jump to kernel 2.6 it will be alittle tricky there. -- jsuthan Zues linux team http://www.mypulau.com |

You will find more intersting stuff in it. This thread was started on Aug 7th, 2001! No wonder there's talk of 2.2 kernels. Is there a timewarp in action here? -- Andy. |

They're still occasionalloy useful for legacy systems and microkernels or real-time kernels. |

There are a bunch of recent replies to those rather outdated messages, looks like the nntp server jsuthan is using has a real problem! -- Michael Heiming (X-PGP-Sig > GPG-Key ID: EDD27B94) mail: echo zvpunry@urvzvat.qr | perl -pe 'y/a-z/n-za-m/' #bofh excuse 427: network down, IP packets delivered via UPS |

I've seen them but this is the first one I've checked out. I'll never understand why a news server needs years of retention when we have Google Groups for that. My ISP (using GigaNews I think) goes back years. It takes ages for Leafnode to sync to a new group if it's a busy group. -- Andy. |

Did you thought of the guy in charge at your ISP, I mean the one with the brother in law selling SAN/NAS equipment? ;-) > It takes ages for Leafnode to sync to a new group if it's a busy group. My ISP (using GigaNews I think) goes back years. Your ISP is just forwarding your NNTP connections to Giganews. They "go back years" because it is a selling point. -- John Hasler john@dhh.gt.org Dancing Horse Hill Elmwood, WI USA |
