| I am trying to help a friend who has a 3-in-one system - Win98se, WinXP and Red Hat Linux 2.4.7-10 installed. ( I assume it is Red Hat Linux 7.0) He also has Norton Sytem Commander installed so that I have to choose Linux when starting it. The other 2 systems win98se and WinXP are running OK. Only the Linux system has problem starting. When loading the Linuz system, I see the KDE menu shows the keyboard and mouse icons blinking .......seemingly unable to load the 2 device drivers. A few seconds later the screen just shows everything in blue and hangs. I have tried restarting Linux a few times to let it detect all the hardware devices.....and perform systems check integrity.....and everything went smooothly with all the OK signs except for a USB device that failed. What is wrong with this Red Hat 7.0? Is it corrupted? What shall I do? Any help appreciated. Thanks Ben |

First, he *really* needs to update to 7.3 at least. 7.0 should have been strangled with its own umbilical cord at birth, it was so bad. Can he boot into single user mode? And has he made any kernel or hardware changes lately? |
