| a 'standard' install of FC4 includes a Notification Area icon in a Gnome panel that monitors the number of open Gnome terminals. i find that i can remove that Notification Area applet(?) from the panel, but when i try to restore it i can only add an NA icon to the panel and it seems that icon doesn't monitor anything. i can still open, use, and close Gnome terminals, but cannot get any reaction from a new Notification Area that is added to any panel. is there some way to restore that NA function? how do you get Notification Area to monitor anything? -- please reply to the newsgroup. that's why it exists. |
