| Hello, I am trying to do a dual boot installation of Fedora 2 on a Windows XP box. I have a 20 gig hard drive and have split it into 2 (roughly) equal partitions with Partition magic. While installing from the CD I have chosen the "Keep all partitions and use existing space" option. I then get a message that Partitioning failed. It says that I have not defined a Root (/) Partition. Can anybody tell me how to do this? Thanks .... James |

Actually, you should set up three partitions, the third being a swap partition whose size is often set to double your RAM size. With Fedora or Red Hat, you should probably use their "Disk Druid" to do this. -- .~. Besides the other good note, I strongly suggest using Fedora Core 3 instead, unless the box is very slow. |
