| I have spent days on this problem now I have reinstalled Suse 10.1 from scratch so many times now just to make sure I have a clean sheet so to speak but still cant get the damm wirless card to work or internet access . hear is what I have done so far word for word . Loaded 10.1 from scratch basically installed the ndiswrapper from DVD Copied driver from Belkin Cd to desktop of root . Opened a terminal Typed in Ndiswrapper and path to driver . Typed in Ndiswrapper –l answer driver installed hardware present Typed ndiswrapper -m adding “alias to Wlan0 ndiswraper” to etc/modprobe.d/ndiswrapper Typed Iwlist wlan0 scan Cell01 – address:00:11:50:FD:B8:69 ESSID :” paulsBelkin” Protocol :IEEE 802.11b Mode: managed Frequancy :2.437ghz (Channel 6 ) Quality : 0/100 Signal level :-27 dbm noise level :256 dbm Encryption key: on bit rates:1 mb/s; 2 Mb/s; 5.5 mb/s; 11 mb/s Extra:bcn_int=100 Extra :atim=0 This tells me that at least the wireless card is reaching the Access point because it has detected my ESSID “paulsBelkin” Therefore this must mean that the driver and ndiswrapper is working Now to YAST In Yast I disconnected the Eth0 card Then added wireless card added ndiswrapper in module selected use dhcp Selected "paulsBelkin" as ESSId name Used hex and added wep key making sure that key length is the same as router on this occasion both are 64 Made sure that firewall was set to external and then finished Rebooted just to make sure Still no Internet , Added ifconfig wlan0 192.168.2.5 Route add default gw 192.168.2.1 Still no internet . What now ? this is getting so frustrating I think it might be a routing problem but don't know where to go from here . please any help really appriciated now big time . thanks |

No encryption and no firewall, see if it will connect then. If it does add one back at a time, I would start with the firewall and leave encrypt until last. Good luck Dave |
