Default Screen resolution settings, KDE only

I know screen resolution questions are usually dumb, but this one is
driving me bats.

I recently decided to check out Fedora 3. During install, I chose 1024
x 768. I have since decided to change it to 1280 x 1024. I used
Fedora's display utility to do this.

When the system boots up and starts x, it does so at 1280 x 1024. KDM
(which I'm using) is certainly displayed at that resolution, no doubt
about it. When I log in though, I see the KDE splash screen at 1280 x
1024 for a split second and then the resolution changes back to 1024 x
768.

Further, when I log out of KDE, KDM is now displayed at 1024 x 768, BUT
if I then restart X, it goes back to 1280 x 1024 -- until I restart
KDE, that is.

I've been trying to find a KDE specific setting for this (I even feel
like I kinda remember there being one somewhere) but I can't find it.
Any help would be appreciated.
Tom F.

In KDE 3.3, you can change this settings in the KDE control center under
Peripherals=>Display.

.... kde control center -> peripherals -> display
might also browse around in /etc/X11/XF86Config

Just like I said, screen resolution questions are usually dumb.

I was fooling around in Control Center, but before I changed the x
configuration so I couldn't select 1280 x 1024. Duh.

Thanks.
