Default serial console and devfs

Dear all,

Anyone try to successfully configure the serial console for linux with
devfs.I want to export the console to monitor and serial port.
Before I use the devfs, I can successfully do it.
But now, after using the devfs.I cannot do it.
Now, the serial console can view everything, but in the monitor, it stops at
"Freeing usused kernel memory".
I am using Redhat 9, and using the kernel 2.4.24.
Any idea??

Best,
Kelvin Yip

Why are you using devfs? It's deprecated on newer versions of Linux.
