| There appear to be 3 competing suspend-to-disk (aka hibernate) implementations in linux: swsusp, swsusp2, and pmdisk. http://swsusp.sourceforge.net/features.html Are any or all of them reliable? They all look potentially great. However, all have indications that they not yet be mature. pmdisk has patches in the latest Morton kernel. swsusp2 is not yet integrated into the kernel distro, and doesn't have patches since 2.6.2. I also see comments about usb not being integrated. The idea that the most common peripheral format is not fully handled is quite informative. I just want to use hibernation in linux as I do in windows, w/o spending expensive mindshare on the decision and installation process, and w/o risking destruction. What do you experts recommend? Thanks. ------------------------ Wm Randolph Franklin http://www.ecse.rpi.edu/Homepages/wrf/ |
